How do You Carry Gear to the Surf or Pier?

Tue May 01, 2018 2:18 pm

I use one of those old lady shopping carts. I load it up with a backpack with food, water and latex gloves. Then a tacklebag with hooks, lines and sinkers plus pre-made leaders. Then a cooler for chunk bait or anything I might catch.

I also wear a fishing vest to keep tools and gloves handy.

How about you?

For me it depends on where I am. For freshwater pier or jettys I use a big white 5 gallon bucket that I get for free. I put everything I will be using in there. I never use live bait when I pier fish in freshwater lakes so I do not need to worry about that.

For Salt water fishing off of a pier, dock, jetty I use a big white 5 gallon bucket. I sometimes take along the cover which is attached to the bucket with a short piece of line. I also bring along a flow-troll bait saver bucket attached to a long line so I can float it off of the pier. For surf fishing the same thing except no flow-troll. I also bring along a stake with a rod holder to support my rod in the sand.

Kind Regards,
Bill :P
